While I loved the base game of Frag I found it a bit lacking in variety with only two maps, one environmental hazard (acid), and those who dumped all their starting points into the health stat being (in my opinion) unreasonably tough to kill. I am very happy to report that this lovely little expansion manages to wipe my worries away. The inclusion of a new double sided game board with a two new environmental hazards (Water: no damage but slows you down. Lava: roll for damage if adjacent to a lava tile at the end of your turn and roll immediately for damage if you enter lava) and the new mechanic of barrels which allow even the worst armed player to be a formidable threat to anybody who ends their turn close to the barrels.Additionally the expansion allows the option to use included heart tokens in place of the dry-erase section for health which is a great time saver and really helps keep the game moving.All that being said as much as I love Frag I must admit that unless this game really appeals to you one could probably rig-up most of what is offered on their own for little to no cost so long as one does not mind missing out on the rather nice new board offered within this expansion.You have to get the expansion. The reason is that it comes with a reversible game board, just like in the first game, but also more guns, more power-ups, life counters (which the core did not have), barrels, and new terrain (lava and water). First off, what caught me off guard is that when this thing is shipped to you, everything is packaged inside the game board. The game board itself is shrink wrapped. The FTW cover paper has the new rules inside the cover so you can't throw that away. Other than that, everything in this expansion will make the games more epic, the battles more intense, and the fights more hilarious. The chaos that will ensue will create a vortex of fun and that no player will be able to escape.My family loves this game, FPS meets board game! I wish they still sold the other expansion set with the mine layer and guided nuke!boards are nice, exploding barrels are fun. Its over priced for what it is.The maps dont work well with the other maps from the base game in my opinionThis game is a fantastic addition. Aufgrund der Dauer wir spielen zu 5 meist etwa eine Stunde pro Spiel) ist es aber eher für einen Spieleabend geeignet und nur bedingt zum Zeit überbrücken.Von den beiden Maps ist eine etwas eigenartig 6 Spawnpunkte in abgeschlossenen Räumen, ansonsten nur freies Feld), während die andere recht häufig gespielt wird ziemlich verschachtelt mit sehr vielen Möglichkeiten).Nach 2-3 Runden lief das Spiel ziemlich flüssig und die Runden gingen nur noch ~45 Minuten, statt wie vorher fast doppelt so lange.Ich hätte nie erwartet dass ein Brettspiel dermaßen actionreich sein kann.Empfehlung: FRAG FTW, eine der Erweiterungen, und [...]
