As with any plastic, it will show cut marks; however, that does not impact the functionality of easy cutting or carving. PLASTIC vs. WOOD The primary benefit of a plastic cutting board versus a wooden board is that the juices can not seep into the plastic. Juices can seep into a wood board or stay trapped in the "cuts." As a result wooden boards can end up being less sanitary even if they are washed with soap (In many cases, they don't recommend washing a wood cutting board with soap). Since no liquid can seep into the plastic, and it can easily be washed with soap and warm water or put in a dishwasher, ensuring it will be more sanitary.
