    8 LEDs are connected to the RD port. When the J3 is plugged in, the LED is enabled. J3 is unplugged and the RD port is completely released.

This development board works great so far. I had no issues using my PKT 3 once I figured how to connect it to the Inline Serial Programming Port. It won't plug in directly due to the close proximity to the Ziff connector. I used a 6 pin M\F header. I'm a beginner with programming pic chips, I haven't used all of the hardware features yet. My only issue is the provided sample code is written in an older MPLAB code.
